Small Autumn Beaded Tree

This is a stained glass-on-glass mosaic art piece that incorporates 300+ beads within a stained glass design. As an artist, I create both geometric designs and landscapes, usually trees. I decided to try combining the two styles together and I created this design - a mixed media beaded mandala tree.

While this design includes several hundred Czech glass beads, it also includes numerous semiprecious healing stone beads, including agate, carnelian, jade and peach aventurine.

The foliage mandala centers are made up of various agate cabochons (dragon veins and striped). Surrounding the mandala foliage is a mix of hand cut stained glass from numerous art glass companies, including Kokomo and Uroboros glass.

The healing properties of the semiprecious stones include:
*Agate - a soothing and stabilizing stone, it can help heal inner anger and anxiety, and provide stability. It can also enhance mental function.
*Carnelian - a stabilizing stone, stimulates creativity and restores motivation
*Jade - is a protective stone, soothing the mind to release negative thoughts, as well as bringing harmony and good luck. Yellow jade (specifically) - energizes, bringing joy and happiness
*Peach aventurine - helps balance the emotions, bringing calm to the viewer. It can help boost creativity, and reduce worry, stress and anxiety

I design and create all of my own art pieces, so each piece is unique and one-of-a-kind. Only the highest quality stained glass and beads are used. Completed pieces are sprayed with a sealant to protect the glass and grout from wear & tear.

*Although stained glass mosaics resemble traditional stained glass, sanded grout is used in mosaics rather than lead, to connect the glass pieces. This, then, allows the viewer to enjoy stained glass without the concern of lead exposure.
