Stained Glass Mosaic – Large Beaded Mandala Tree

This is a stained glass-on-glass mosaic art piece that incorporates 1,000+ beads within a stained glass design. As an artist, I create both geometric designs and landscapes, usually trees. I decided to try combining the two styles together and I created this design - a mixed media beaded mandala tree.
While this design includes 500+ Czech glass beads, it also includes numerous semiprecious healing stone beads, including carnelian, yellow jade, cherry quartz, amethyst and agate beads. The foliage mandala centers are made up of agate cabochons (dragon veins, striped and dendritic agates) and an antique stained glass jewel. Surrounding the mandala foliage is a mix of hand cut stained glass from numerous art glass companies, including Kokomo and Youghiogheny glass.

Light brown wood frame base.
*Although stained glass mosaics resemble traditional stained glass, sanded grout is used in mosaics rather than lead, to connect the glass pieces. This, then, allows the viewer to enjoy stained glass without the concern of lead exposure.
